Black Wedding Gowns a Possibility

Have you thought of wearing black in your wedding? This may sound surprising but black wedding gowns are also a possibility. Some folks say white is the color of purity and so it has been used for centuries, a symbol of matrimony. But since fashion has evolved, people started to adopt change. Different colors have been used; white to dirty white, light yellow to gold, velvet red to any shades of red and lastly, any variation of black. Unlike prom dresses wherein bright, metallic, shimmering and dark colors are in, it’s still quite unusual to witness a wedding ceremony with the main star of the event wearing a dark shade of gown like that of white isn’t it? Maybe, maybe not. Like what I said, it’s just a mere tradition, to most folk it’s a superstition; but in the name of fashion it’s possible.

Culture is also one of the factors why some people don’t want to believe that white should just be the standard. Most Indians don’t think that pink are just for girls, as long as they like the color then it doesn’t matter even if their sons are wearing pink outfit or their baby boys riding a pink baby stroller. In Germany, the homeland of the supermodel Heidi Klum, a wedding is a possibility of any color that a bride wants. A friend of mine who got married to a German national had her dream wedding several years ago. It was a spectacular garden wedding; the bride was wearing a shimmering velvet red wedding gown as well as some of the entourage. Then a couple of years ago, my other friend who also tied the knot in Deutschland, wore a pitch black gown on her civil wedding. But then the last wedding that I attended had a dress code, wearing any dress that you want except for black. So there you go, it depends on the host. I’m not saying that since black is also in you should wear one and end up having trouble with your family and in laws. Wedding is not a simple thing. It’s not just a simple contract wherein you sign the agreement on a piece of paper. Yeah, it’s still a contract but it’s more than just a meeting of minds, it’s the meeting of hearts. The bottom line is, unlike prom dresses, wedding gowns have to comply with the social norms.

Two Gowns in One Day

My fiancé has started choosing wedding gowns ever since the day I proposed to her. She said she wanted to look fashionable and as best as she possibly could on the date of our marriage later this year. She said she wanted to have two different dresses, one of course for the wedding ceremony, and the other one for the reception so she could move freely and easily, which I think made sense since I know it is a little hard for the ladies to wear something long and big while socializing with a lot of people. The only thing about it is of course, I am not allowed to see what she is going to pick and buy for the big day. And she’s using it, for some reason, to make me think so much on how she would look like when it’s our wedding day already. She kept on saying she would make sure that she would look sexy and yet classy, and will see to it that she will be the only woman that I will be looking at on the day of the ceremony due to her wedding gown. She also told me she has a surprise for me, but that would have to wait until after the reception, which basically made me more excited about our wedding day.

Weddings and Gowns

Wedding Gowns are always the main attraction when it comes to wedding ceremonies because let’s face it, a wedding is not just a day for a couple getting tied up, but a day for the bride as well. People would always look at the gowns of the bride first when the ceremony start to roll before listening on how the wedding vows were delivered. And since the grooms are not allowed to see their brides wearing their gowns until the wedding day, expect the groom to really put their attention on how their soon to be wives would look within those big dresses. That is why the wedding gown fashion industry earns a lot of big bucks each year because women want to look really great in their wedding day since they know that once the wedding march have started, people will be anticipating their arrival and the way they look in the dress. For some, it is really nerve racking because some brides don’t want to be given any negative comments on their big day. This is why women would spend a lot of money to hire famous designers to create a dress that would really shine in any room…
